Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1-inch)
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Tab 2 7. 0-inch not long ago and today introduced the 10. 1-inch variant of it at MWC. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10. 1-inch) will be among the first tablets from Samsung to operate on the Ice Cream Sandwich skinned with TouchWiz.
The 9. 7mm-thick device has a 10. 1-inch LCD display with 1280×800px resolution which is higher than the 7. 0-inch model.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10. 1-inch) has in fact similar technical specs as the 7-inch model. It comes with a similar 1Ghz dual-core processor and 1 GB RAM. It has the same connectivity features at the same time, such as Bluetooth 3. 0, Wi-Fi, A-GPS. The Galaxy Tab 2 (10. 1-inch) will be available with 3G HSPA+ (21Mbps) model and Wi-Fi only model. The 3G model will incorporate a proximity sensor.
When it comes to battery, the 10. 1-inch model includes a greater battery with 7, 000 mAh while the 7. 0-inc model features 4, 000 mAh.
The Galaxy Tab 2 (10. 1-inch) will offer you two storage space variant, 16GB – 32GB. If you chose the smaller one, you can expand the storage thanks to a MicroSD card slot.
The cameras on Galaxy Tab 2 is dissatisfactory, as the rear camera is just 3. 0-MP. The device also includes a VGA front facing camera which is ideal for video chat.
In terms of the operating system, the device will run on Google’s latest build, Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz-flavored.
The release date for the Galaxy Tab 2 (10. 1-inch) (alongside the 7-inch variant) is scheduled to March 2012. The both Galaxy Tab 2 tablets will hit the UK markets initially.
Samsung hasn’t announced the Galaxy Tab 2 price yet but as both has mid-range capabilities we believe they’re not going to be costly.
